I-69 SW Utility Coordination

Value Engineering performed utility verification and coordination for relocation during the design and construction phases of the completed project on I-69. The project spanned from 3800 feet south of the I-94 interchange in Calhoun County to approximately 250 feet north of Island Highway near Charlotte, Eaton County.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:
​Value Engineering's scope of services included:

• Contacting utility companies to collect information about existing utilities.
• Developing Utility Tracking Reports.
• Coordinating and following up with utility companies and MDOT.
• Reviewing utility designs and developing CAD base files.
• Attending meetings with MDOT and Michael Baker International Inc. (MBaker).

DELIVERABLES:

• Utility Tracking Reports: Monthly submissions to Prime Consultant and Client.
• Verification and organization of files for team and client use.
• Coordination and documentation of correspondence between client and utility companies.
• Conducting Utility Coordination meetings.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT:

• Developed and implemented QA/QC procedures as per the Project QA/QC plan.
