The I-196 BL Pavement Inlay Project spans 4.94 miles from US-31 east to 88th Ave.US-31 to I-196 through the city of Holland, MI, in Zeeland Township. This project, focuses on pavement inlay while retaining existing aggregate and subbase. It includes evaluating and, if necessary, replacing guardrails, maintaining vertical and horizontal alignments within MDOT’s Right of Way (ROW), and developing comprehensive Maintenance of Traffic Plans. Value Engineering served as a sub-consultant for the pavement inlay.
The project scope includes:
Pavement inlay from US-31 east to 88th Ave.US-31 to I-196.
Retaining existing aggregate and subbase.
Guardrail evaluation and replacement as needed.
Maintenance of Traffic Plans including TMP, MTSP, and staging plans.
Value Engineering's Scope of Work:
Developing all plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway design.
Completing a Traffic Maintenance Plan (TMP), Maintenance of Traffic Special Provision (MTSP), and staging plans.
Providing design assistance on an as-needed basis to CDM Smith.
Participating in project-related meetings and training sessions as required.
