The project is divided into two distinct phases: Phase 1: Environmental studies and preliminary engineering (EPE), Design survey, Development of plans to 30% completion. Phase 2: Completion of plans, specifications, and estimates. Value engineering services have been successfully completed for Phase 1 of the project, focusing on the 30% base plans for the US-131 Dynamic Hard Shoulder Running initiative. Phase 2, encompassing the final design phase, will be contracted as an amendment. Value Engineerings Accomplishments during Phase 1 include: Developed comprehensive MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) concepts, Identified and analyzed crash investigation sites, Established a comprehensive Mentor-Protégé Plan and Training and Development.
The value engineering team actively participated in various training programs, enhancing their knowledge and expertise in relevant areas. These training sessions included: MicroStation ORD (10.12) training,Base plans workshops (four sessions), Bentley Learn trainings, Work planning (two sessions), Document control training, PQS, specs, and estimates training, Design of DHSR: geometric standards and traffic/infrastructure, Plan Development, Project PDF training, PM - Accounting/Invoicing/Budgeting (monthly)
